Dynamo Dresden consists of Maf Lewis, Rohan Tarry and Tara Busch. The band formed in March 2001 when Maf Lewis, Managing Director of Plastic Raygun Records, met the enigmatic & talented singer/songwriter Tara Busch at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida.

At the time, Lewis was looking to recruit a new collaborator/vocalist for his new project in Cardiff .The new project was to involve himself & Rohan Tarry, the producer of Jean Jacques Smoothie's top 20 UK hit, "2People." After hearing Busch's material, Plastic Raygun had her on the first plane bound for Cardiff to become the 3rd and final ingredient of what would become Dynamo Dresden.

Dynamo Dresden seem to have found a unique and stunning persona, not only in their songwriting, but in their live performance as well. Onstage, the entire band exudes confidence, an effortless cool and boasts one of the most spellbinding frontwomen this side of Beth Gibbons, Alison Goldfrapp and Judy Garland.

The Dynamo Dresden live experience is far removed from the, run-of-the-mill, “Turn up with a laptop” type of artist. They are very much a live band. Instruments played include guitar, bass, flute, Theremin and a variety of souped up synths and home made electronics.

Their stage visuals involve super-cool film clips, surreal, vibrant lighting and most notably, the use of the "V – Deck." Developed with two of Maf’s ex students, (Maf is an ex university lecturer in product design.) This incredible piece of technology allows a DJ to simultaneously scratch vinyl and video images on a standard Technics turntable.

This has been thought of as so innovative by the design world that it has recently appeared at the London showcase for new designers at the Design Centre in Islington. Dynamo Dresden have exclusive rights to use and perform with the V-Deck and they do so to breathtaking effect.

Dynamo Dresden were dubbed, 'The new gods of lounge core' by the Radio 1 Session in Wales. The group has also completed remixes for BMG, Parlophone, Echo, Plastic Raygun and BIC-Japan. (Although they did turn down Whitney Houston!)
